Can We Rebuild the Peace Movement?

March 19 @ 5:00 pm 6:30 pm

Please join us for an important hybrid gathering of folks concerned about the global military and nuclear buildup. Also, please read this interactive piece from the NY Times: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/03/07/opinion/nuclear-war-prevention.html (Paywall). Journalist Jim Carrier will be joining us for this meeting. He has been asked by Progressive Magazine to “write a piece on the state of the anti-nuclear movement”.

Carrier has been following the plans by consultants and lobbyists and militarists who meet at the annual Nuclear Deterrence Summit. They are the ones in charge of our country who are convinced that nuclear war is winnable against our ‘enemies’ Russia and China. He will be with us not as a speaker but as a reporter, trying to ascertain OUR concerns about the fearful prospect of war and what we can do about it. Please come and meet old and new anti-nuclear activists, and lets make plans together for uniting the anti-war and climate change movements. Burlington’s recent election for mayor and city councilors opens new possibilities for change.

This is a hybrid meeting. Please RSVP to Robin Lloyd (below), both if you can or cannot attend.

We would love to see your faces:  if not, here is the Zoom link:
