The Bible? A two-part adult-religious-education series (Part 1)

February 5 @ 4:00 pm 5:30 pm

Do you now or have you ever had a relationship with the Bible? Would you like to connect to the Bible, or is it a document you avoid? Having complex feelings about the Bible is not usual for Friends.

Join Burlington Friends Meeting to discuss your relationship with the Bible and to investigate what we can learn from it.

As a part of this two-part program, we will watch the first two videos from the 2022 Annual Sessions Bible Half-Hour with Regina Renee Ward. Many Friends had the privilege of attending Regina Renee’s presentations, and the feedback was positive.

Whether you attended last summer’s Bible Half-Hour or not, BFM’s Ministry and Counsel invites you to join us to discuss, through worship sharing, your experiences, positive and negative, with the Bible and to investigate what we can learn from the stories it tells.

Before the session, you may view Regina Renee’s presentations here. Together we will watch the Day One presentation on February 5 and the Day Two presentation on February 19.

Also, please consider the following queries:

Are you acquainted with the Bible, and if so, in what ways?

Has your experience with the Bible been positive or negative?

How do you view the Bible? As a historical document or classic literature, is it a spiritual guide or a book of authoritative lies?

Are there lessons that you have learned from the Bible that have helped you in your life?

Who do you think wrote the Old and New Testaments? Does it matter to how you relate to them?

We are excited to offer Friends this opportunity to discover how Bible Study may deepen our spiritual practice.
