Burlington, Vermont, Friends Meeting is a faith community rooted in the principles of the Religious Society of Friends, the Quakers. We believe that all people have within them the inner light of the Divine. We seek to create and support communities where Quakers’ testimonies of peace, equality, simplicity, integrity and community can flourish. It is our hope and responsibility to create a world of social, economic, racial and gender equality. Because we recognize that all people who seek it have access to divine wisdom, we have no identified clergy. Rather, ministry comes from within the silence in worship and any who are prayerfully led to speak may. Our worship is open to all. We desire the enrichment brought by diversity of faith, background and physical ableness.
